Dobie Detectives Training Academy has launched Operation Survivor Dog, a program to encourage dog trainers, dog lovers, and the general public to assist in rehabilitating and rehoming shelter dogs at-risk of euthanasia.  Humane Society of North Texas is helping to provide some of the shelter dogs enrolled in the program.

June-Aug 2010, Shannon Kiley participated in the Extreme Mutt Makeover, an event sponsored by Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) that paired at-risk shelter dogs with trainers for 8 weeks of training before competing against the other “Extreme Mutts” and getting adopted to new homes.  Corgi mix “Ray” and Shannon were a crowd favorite and took 4th place...after some unfortunate performance incidents (see their video below).  Ray was adopted to a fabulous family in Colorado where he now resides on his ranch with 2 children (their parents, of course) and plenty of room to run with the goats and horses.  After the Extreme Mutt Makeover experience, Shannon decided to continue helping reform shelter dogs as much as possible on a busy schedule and Operation Survivor Dog was born.
