Level 1 HRD/Scent Detector Class
**Some exceptions may be considered on case by case basis.
Equipment Required:

•25 ft+ long line (no flexi-leads)

•Non-slip collar or harness

•moist treats (cooked chicken, cheese, lunch meat, hot dogs, Bil Jac, etc)

•Controlled "partial blind" Scenarios
What to Expect by end of Course:

•Handler understands how to implement and strengthen alert behavior

•K9 has started to recognize possibility of target scent to be elevated or subsurface

•K9 is starting to discriminate for specific target scent with distractors present

•Handler/K9 able to locate above ground target scent in a "partially blind" scenario.
